When is Kindergeld paid? Explanation
Child benefit is paid in the course of the respective month for which an entitlement exists. The time of the monthly transfer of the child benefit by the family benefits office depends on your child benefit number. You will find your child benefit number on your account statements or on a letter from the family benefits office. It contains 3 digits, the letters FK and another 6 digits.
The date of payment is determined by the last digit (= final digit) of the child benefit number.
child benefit number. The transfers begin at the beginning of the month for the child benefit numbers with the final digits 0 and 1. In the course of the month, the child benefit is transferred for the child benefit number with the final digits 2 to 7, and for the final digits 8 and 9 at the end of the month.
- For the child benefit number XXXFKXXXXX1 (end digit 1), the payment is made at the beginning of the month.
- For child benefit number XXXFKXXXXX9 (end digit 9), the payment is made at the end of the month.

The table shows the current transfer days for the last digit of your child benefit number. „Endziffer“ means the last digit of your Kindergeld number. “Überweisungstag“” means the day on which the child benefit is transferred and credited to your account during the same day.
Due to weekends and public holidays, certain delays in the receipt of money are unfortunately unavoidable. There is no legal entitlement to payment on a certain day of the month.
